It’s that time of the year, when the weather is warming up and the trees start to bloom, and you can hear the birds chirping, and the signs of winter are slowly fading away. It gives me fresh vibes, feelings, a new start, renewal, dusting off the chill of the winter months. It's essentially a time I like to take to freshen things up. Some of the ways I like to bring Spring into my bedroom while still maintaining a classic and timeless look is through:
Textiles, Textiles, Textiles
It's time to turn over a new sheet. Bedding is the perfect opportunity to refresh your bedroom. The bed is the most important furniture piece and focal point in any bedroom, and also has the greatest impact on really changing the overall feel, look, and achieving that refresh.
New bedding (sheets)
No matter what your bedroom looks like, white is a good option one hundred percent of the time! Or the next best thing, hues in cream. In the Spirit of Spring, I also like to include dusty blue’s, and cappuccino’s are great ways to usher in a new season, while still keeping with a simple and classic aesthetic. Here are a few of my favourite sheet sets. For the Spring and even summer season, love this blush Flax linen set by Lulu and Georgia. If Pink is not your colour they have two other options that are perfect for warmer months. I’m also loving the stripped set by Lulu and Georgria. Stripes are a classic! The subtle hue gives just enough contrast without overwhelming. It's a print that won't fail you. Also, this toile de juoy print from ZaraHome is always a good choice.

Throw Blanket
Add layers and dimension to your room, and are another opportunity to refresh your bedroom for spring. Not only is it a good practical solution to change your throw blanket and replace it with something lighter for the warmer season ahead, like I said you can also take advantage of this time, and introduce a little color and even personality. To keep within a timeless look, I like to go for classic prints, and patterns, or rich bold hues like emerald green bed, and it is also a cost effective way to refresh. Consider throws like Percale from Silk & Snow. I am loving the buttercream colour for spring.
Decorative throw Pillows
Accent your bed, are a great styling tool, and bring in much needed detail. They are the easiest way to add color and texture to any space, including the bedroom. Decorative throw pillows bring in much needed texture. And help create the necessary layers to add dimension to your bedroom. Plus they are cozy! You can have fun with this. There is an array of choices to choice from bolster pillows, lumbar, and pouffs. Check this chic Tiger jacquard print bolster from Lulu and Georgia. And this one, Jade floral print works well in for the Spring season and even throughout summer.
Florals
Florals elevate any look, and there’s no denying that flowers and spring go hand in hand. Flowers are an opportunity to bring a little bit of spring indoors, and add a pop of color. You can live on the wild side a bit with florals. If you’re afraid of colour, you can bring in any color with low commitment. I love combining real florals and faux florals. Florals also have a way of completely changing the atmosphere of a room. They are givers through and through. There’s really no easier way to shift the mood of your bedroom than by bringing in fresh flowers. If fresh isn’t always practical, faux florals are a great option for longevity while still giving you that same soft, uplifting feel.
Decorative Objects
To go along with bringing in some new flowers, I seasonally change my floral vases. It is another fun and inexpensive way to freshen up my bedroom for Spring. Here are my top 5 floral vases that are timeless additions to your Spring refresh. This textured glass from H&M is hitting all the right notes. This vase reminds me of a flower with its organic silhouette. This smaller format vases might be compact but pack a punch. The classic blue and white print is timeless and works beautifully with a variety of decor schemes. Emma Clay is known for her handmade and hand painted designs. This tulip-shaped vase in white and pink couldn't say spring any louder. And this beauty, I know, it's not subtle. It has a lot of personality...but it works.

Artwork
If your feeling adventurous - one word Artwork. This is the perfect time to introduce some new artful pieces and include your walls in the fun of refreshing. Consider swapping out or adding in some artwork to add pops of colour, story and a hint of personality to your room. Love this piece by Luxebco.

And I know this article is specific to a bedroom, but many of these tips can also be used to refresh any part of your home for Spring minus the sheets of course!
Yours Truly,
Rachael Lockhart
